Monetary Gift Policy
With each purchase of a Tribe Tag, a monetary amount is given to the Beneficiary on whose Tribe Page it was purchased (the “Monetary Gift”). For Nickel Plated Steel Tribe Tags, the Monetary Gift is $15.00. For Sterling Silver Tribe Tags, the Monetary Gift is $75.00. You are solely responsible for ensuring that you have purchased a Tribe Tag for the correct Beneficiary. Human Tribe Project has no right to the Monetary Gifts and is delivering the Monetary Gift without the deduction of any fees or service charges. Human Tribe Project is solely acting as an agent for the purchaser for the sole purpose of delivering the Monetary Gift to the Beneficiary.
Monetary Gifts are not charitable donations and are not deductible by the purchaser for federal income tax purposes. Monetary Gifts likely are not taxable income to the Beneficiary and are unlikely to result in gift tax liability to the purchaser, unless a purchaser’s collective Monetary Gifts to a single Beneficiary exceed $13,000 (or $26,000 in the case of a married individual whose spouse has consented to gift-splitting). This information does not constitute tax advice and you should not rely on information given on www.humantribeproject.com to determine the legal, accounting, tax or financial consequences of purchasing a Tribe Tag and making a Monetary Gift. Please consult a professional regarding any legal, accounting, tax or financial consequences that may affect you. Human Tribe Project shall have no liability for any claim by any federal or state tax authority with respect to your characterization of any Monetary Gifts through Human Tribe Project on your federal or state tax returns.
Monetary Gifts will be sent to each Beneficiary on a monthly basis in the form of a check made payable to the Beneficiary and mailed to the address provided by the Tribe Manager when the Tribe Page was created. Any change to this information should be updated immediately to ensure that Monetary Gifts are received. Human Tribe Project shall not be responsible for misdirected Monetary Gifts due to incorrect or invalid information provided to Human Tribe Project. In the event that a Monetary Gift cannot be delivered to the designated Beneficiary, Human Tribe Project reserves the right to return the Monetary Gift to the purchaser or redirect it to another Beneficiary. Monetary Gift checks will be sent on or before the 15th day of each month and will include Monetary Gifts given through the last day of the previous month. Monetary Gifts given after the last day of any given month will be included with the next month’s Monetary Gift check.
